Becky Essay During class we read a story, Becky and the Wheels -and- Brake Boys, written by James Berry. It describes a girl, Becky, who really wants a bike but can’t seem to convince her mother till’ the end of the story. How she acts throughout this story makes her a credible character like what she feels, says, and does. There are many reasons that make Becky credible but one that relates to other children is the one that states that she wants to fit in. For the evidence of this Becky thinks, "I only want to be with Nat, Aldo, Jimmy, and Ben." She wants to hang out with them because they all have bikes and she wants one too, to able to play with them. Wanting to play with kids her age and wanting to have something they have, shows credibility. Furthermore, to connecting problems like other kids she begs her mother on and on for the bike she really wants. What some kids usually do is pester just like Becky did. Becky says to herself, “Over and over I told my mom I wanted a bike. ” Some kids in order to get what they want they have to ask several times and give reasons to how they feel toward the item.
